Can You Use Grass on iOS Mobiles?

For now, if you really want to try it on iOS mobile, you run the Chrome extension (Lite Node) using browsers like Mises or Kiwi. But keep in mind — Grass is planning to stop support for extensions soon, so it might stop working at any time.

Option 1 – Bandwidth Sharing

You earn two types of points: Network Points and Uptime Points. Together, these are called and shown as Grass Points, but you can see both types separately as well as the total.
Network Points are rewarded based on the amount of bandwidth your connection actually contributes. Each day, a fixed pool of 1,000,000 Network Points is distributed among users based on their share of the total bandwidth contributed by all users worldwide. These points are not guaranteed—you only earn them when your bandwidth is actually used.
On the other hand, Uptime Points are guaranteed. You earn them based on how long your device stays connected, the type of extension or app you use, and the quality of your network.
Grass determines your network quality based on the demand for bandwidth in your country. This can go up to 100% in countries with high demand.
For example, if your network quality is 75% and your device stays connected for one hour, you’ll earn Uptime Points as follows:
- Lite Node extension: 75 Uptime Points
- Community extension: 93.75 Uptime Points
- Desktop Node: 150 Uptime Points

One cool thing about Grass is that you can run its app or extension on multiple devices using the same network (IP address). However, if multiple devices share the same IP, you’ll earn reduced Uptime Points across those devices. To earn full Uptime Points on each device, you’ll need to use different networks (IP addresses).

Rewards are distributed through airdrops only after a Stage ends, and each Stage has no fixed timeline. The Grass Foundation (the team managing token allocation and distribution) decides when a Stage is complete, based on the project’s progress and development.
- Stage 1, called “Building the Network,” lasted 16 months.
- Stage 2, known as “Capturing the Web,” is now live and already in its 14th month (as of Dec-2025).
In early 2025, the Grass team announced that the Stage 2 airdrop would take place in Q4 2025 (October–December). However, in November 2025, they later updated this timeline and stated that the airdrop is now planned for H1 2026 (January–June).
That said, this timeline is still not guaranteed. If there is any delay, the airdrop could be extended by another 2 to 3 months, meaning rewards may arrive as late as early H2 2026 (July–September).

But it’s not a simple “points = tokens” system. Let’s break down how it actually works.
Not All Points Are Equal
Each activity has a different level of importance (weight):
- Highest: Network Points (actual bandwidth contribution)
- Second: Uptime Points (device uptime)
- Third: Level 1 referral Uptime Points
- Fourth: Level 2 referral Uptime Points
- Fifth: Level 3 referral Uptime Points
- Lowest: Bonus Points
Stages, Epochs & Airdrops: What You Need to Know
Grass follows a Stage-based system. At the beginning of each Stage, the Grass Foundation (the team that manages token distribution) allocates a fixed percentage of the total 1 billion tokens as rewards for users. However, not all of the allotted tokens are distributed — some are reserved for community growth.
Each Stage is split into monthly cycles called Epochs, and the total Stage reward is evenly divided across all Epochs. At the end of the Stage, the tokens earned during all the Epochs are airdropped to users.
There’s No Fixed Points-to-Token Rate
There’s no set formula to convert points into tokens. Instead, your total Grass Points for each Epoch—the total of Network Points, Uptime Points, referral rewards, and bonuses—are compared with other users in the same Epoch, and you’re placed into a tier.
- Higher tier = more tokens for fewer points
- Lower tier = fewer tokens for more points
To get into a top tier (like Tier 1), try to maintain high device uptime every Epoch. The more Uptime Points, Network Points, and referral points you earn, the better your tier placement.
Note: Actual device Uptime Points and Network Points matter more than anything else when deciding your tier.
If you don’t share your internet connection or have low device Uptime Points or low Network Points in any Epoch, your tier level will drop compared to the previous one. Your referral points and bonus points in that Epoch will also lose their original weightage—meaning you’ll receive far fewer tokens than expected for the points you earned.
Also, the number of active users in an Epoch affects how many tokens you receive for your tier. More users mean more competition, so you may need higher Uptime Points, more Network Points, and more referral points to secure a good number of tokens.

- Total rewards: 100 million $GRASS (10% of total supply) for Closed Alpha and Epochs 1–7
- Extra bonus: 5 million $GRASS (0.5% of total supply) for Bonus Epoch (extended period)

This automatically increases your Uptime Points and also improves your chances of earning more Network Points — it’s the smartest way to move up in tiers and earn more tokens, even without referrals.
More uptime = More Uptime Points + Network Points = Higher tier = More tokens. Simple.
How Much Can You Actually Earn on Grass?
Your earnings on Grass aren’t fixed — they can vary depending on several key factors. Here’s what actually affects how much you can earn:
- Token Value: The value of the $GRASS token is the primary factor that decides how much you earn. As of December 2025, 1 $GRASS token is worth around $0.30. You can always check the latest price on CoinMarketCap. If the project gains more traction, the token value could increase by 10x, 100x, or even more. That means even a small number of tokens earned today could be worth much more in the future. On the other hand, if the project loses traction, a 10x or even 100x price drop is also possible. So token value matters the most — it depends on the project’s future growth, development, and overall crypto market trends.
- Uptime Hours: Uptime matters. The longer you keep your device connected, the more Uptime Points you earn, and the better your chances of earning Network Points as well. More uptime = More Uptime Points + Network Points = Higher tier = More $GRASS tokens. Simple!
- Network Quality: If you live in a country with high demand for internet traffic (like the U.S. or Europe), your network is considered high quality. This means you’ll earn more Uptime Points for every hour your device stays online compared to users in other regions. You’ll also earn more Network Points if you consistently share your connection, as demand is higher in these regions.
- Number of Devices: The number of devices you run Grass on also matters. Running it on multiple devices increases your total uptime. More devices = More Uptime Points = More tokens each Epoch.
- Number of IPs: If you run multiple devices, each one should ideally be on a different internet network (IP). Using the same IP for multiple devices reduces the Uptime Points — and tokens — you earn. Using different IPs can also improve your chances of earning more Network Points.
- Active Users on the Network: Grass doesn’t follow a fixed points-to-token system. Instead, each Stage has a fixed token pool that is shared among all active users. So, if more users are active, you’ll need more Uptime Points and Network Points to earn 1 $GRASS token. Your share depends on how well you perform compared to others in each Epoch.
Bottom Line: There’s no guaranteed number. Your earnings depend on your location, uptime, number of devices, IPs, total active users, and most importantly, the token’s market value. Keep your expectations realistic, stay consistent, and optimize your setup — that’s the best way to earn more over time.
How Do You Get Paid?
Grass pays you in $GRASS tokens (Grass’s own crypto). $GRASS is built on the Solana blockchain and is already supported by many popular crypto wallets.
Supported Wallets
In Stage 1, Grass supported wallets like Solflare, Phantom, ByBit, OKX, Magic Eden, WalletConnect, Backpack, Bitget, and Gate.
For Stage 2, more wallet options are expected. If $GRASS gets listed on Binance before the stage ends, Binance Wallet could be added too!
When Can You Connect or Change Your Wallet?
You can connect or change your wallet near the end of each Stage. If you’ve already connected a wallet in the previous Stage, you can still switch it — but only before the deadline.
Important: If you don’t connect or update your wallet in time, here’s what happens:
- No wallet connected? You won’t be able to claim your rewards until the next Stage. Your unclaimed rewards will roll over and can be claimed with the next airdrop.
- Didn’t change your wallet? You’ll only be able to claim rewards to the wallet you connected in the previous Stage.
Grass always announces the cut-off time in advance, so keep an eye on your dashboard or email reminders, and make sure to connect or update your wallet before the deadline.

As soon as a Stage ends and rewards are airdropped, you can instantly claim your tokens to your connected wallet.
Are There Any Fees?
Yes — your wallet will charge a small SOL (Solana) transaction fee, usually around 0.0005 SOL. It’s a minimal fee on the Solana network.
Is There a Deadline to Claim?
Yes. You’ll usually have 2 to 5 months to claim your rewards.
If you miss that window, don’t worry — your unclaimed rewards will be included in the next Stage’s airdrop along with your new rewards.
Is There Eligibility Criteria for Airdrops?
Yes, there are requirements to qualify for the airdrops. The criteria for each stage may change and are set by the Grass Foundation. For Stage 1 airdrop, the requirement is to earn at least 500 Grass Points in any single Epoch.
As for Stage 2, the Grass Foundation hasn’t shared any details yet. However, reaching 100 hours of uptime in any Epoch is a good strategy to increase your chances of qualifying for the airdrop.

Each airdrop comes after a long gap — usually between 12 to 24 months (sometimes even longer). If you’re using the mobile app, you don’t need to do anything. You’ll only be able to check your network quality by logging in to your Grass account using a mobile or computer browser.

How to Fix the 0% Network Quality Issue
Sometimes, even after refreshing the Grass app, your network quality still shows 0% with a message like “Poor Network Quality.” Don’t worry — this is a common issue and can be fixed with a few simple steps:
Step 1: Turn Off VPN or Proxy
If you’re using a VPN or proxy, turn it off. Then restart your PC and open the Grass app again. Wait for 10–15 minutes, then click the refresh option. In most cases, your network quality will now appear.
Step 2: Restart Your PC and Router (for Dynamic IP connections)
Not using a VPN or proxy but still seeing 0%? Turn off both your PC and router. Wait 15–30 minutes. Then restart both devices. Once the Grass app reconnects, wait another 10–15 minutes and click the refresh option. Your network quality should now update.
Step 3: Contact Your ISP (for Static IP connections)
If you’re using a static IP, the above methods won’t work. In this case, contact your ISP and request an IP change. After updating your IP, restart the app and follow the same steps — your network quality should be restored.
How to Fix the Connectivity Issue on Grass
Having trouble connecting to the Grass network? Don’t worry — it’s a common issue. Follow these steps to get back online:
Step 1: Check for the Latest App Version
Make sure you’re running the latest version of the Grass app. If not, download and install the latest version from your dashboard. You can also enable auto-updates to avoid future issues.
Step 2: Wait for 30 to 60 Minutes
Let the app run without any interaction. Sometimes it connects automatically within 30 to 60 minutes. Be patient and let it work in the background.

If the above steps didn’t work, completely uninstall the Grass app. Then, turn off both your PC and router and wait 15–30 minutes. Restart both devices, download a fresh copy from your dashboard, and install it. This method often helps the app reconnect.

If nothing works, the issue might be on Grass’s end. In that case, wait for the team to release an update or fix the problem from their side.
